Day 1

• Travel through Pennsylvania and New Jersey to Long Island, New York
• Visit Old Westbury Gardens and the Phipps Estate (Box Lunch included)
• Guided tour of “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” in the Hamptons
• Sample wine at the Duck Walk Winery
• Overnight: Sag Harbor , Long Island
• Dinner (included) in the village of Sag Harbor

Day 2

• Breakfast (included) at hotel
• Guided tour of Sag Harbor
• Tour Montauk Lighthouse, commissioned by George Washington
• Free time in East Hampton for lunch

Mid-day departure for Franconia with a late evening return

The Hamptons are a getaway for the rich and famous. We will visit and tour the Charles II style mansion and eighty-eight acres of gardens at Phipps Estate and Old Westbury Gardens. The mansion is full of fine eighteenth century furnishings that the family collected. Then we’re off on the “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” tour. From aboard the bus, you will see beautiful oceanfront mansions that most of us only read about in books. Then we’re headed to the largest winery in South Fork, the Duck Walk Winery. You will enjoy a wine tasting and learn how wine is made.

Enjoy a tour of Sag Harbor , a quaint harbor town known for pristine beaches and century old streets lined with ancient trees and inviting homes. Many of the shops and homes have changed little in their appearance in three centuries. Among the various styles of architecture, you’ll see Capes , Greek Revivals, and Victorians. In the early 1800’s, Sag Harbor became the prime port for the whaling industry having up to fifty ships calling it home. The Montauk Lighthouse is our next stop. The lighthouse was commissioned by George Washington and is the fourth oldest active one in the U.S. Then you will enjoy lunch on your own in East Hampton and have time to relax and go shopping.
