Day 2

• Meet guide in Wellsboro for day of sightseeing including:
  • Covered wagon ride to Pennsylvania Grand Canyon Upper Gorge
  • Sunday Brunch (included) at the Antlers Inn, formerly a prohibition-era roadhouse
  • Visit the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon Overlook and Visitors Center for great views of the natural wonder
• Mid-day departure for Franconia with a late evening return

Welcome Aboard! Tioga County Railroad has a rich history dating back to 1840. It is the only remaining line in Tioga County. In 1988, Conrail shut down its line between Wellsboro Junction and the Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania. Now passenger excursion trains run between Wellsboro and Corning. Then enjoy free time in the County Seat of Tioga County, Wellsboro. You can stroll about and take pleasure in the beautiful elm and maple trees and wide boulevards with gaslights. Also, the town has stately houses set back from the streets with spacious lawns are indicative of New England towns. Tontight we go to the historic Penn Wells Hotel for dinner. The hotel has been operating since 1925 and remains basically the same as it was back then. Enjoy a spectacular view of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon from the canyon overlook. The canyon is about 47 miles long and reaches a depth of about 800 feet at Leonard Harrison and Colton Point State Parks. Then you will enjoy a Horse Drawn Wagon Ride through meadows and beautiful mountain forests to an elevation of 2,350 feet for spectacular views.
