ITINERARY:
Breakfast, on own, I-95 Rest Area.

11:00 a.m. Arrive Steven Udvar-Hazy Air Center at the Washington Dulles International Airport in Chantilly, Virginia.

The Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum has built the new Udvar-Hazy (pronounced OOD-var HAH-zee) Center to display and preserve its collection of historic aviation and space artifacts. On display are:

• B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay
• Space Shuttle Enterprise
• Air France Concorde
• Tilt-rotor, a protype airplane/helicopter combination
• Formerly top-secret SR-71 Blackbird, the fastest aircraft ever built
• Curtiss JN-4D Jenny, the aeronautical equivalent to the Ford Model T

You are on your own to explore the Center. Available to you for additional costs: Audio Guide ($5pp); Flight Simulator Rides ($4pp); IMAX Theatre ($8 Adult, $6.50 Child 2-12). Lunch, on own, at McCafe. If you prefer to bring a picnic lunch, there are tables outside. Food may NOT be brought into the Center.

3:30 p.m. Depart Udvar-Hazy Center.

5:30 p.m. Dinner, on own, Maryland House, I-95 Rest Area.

8:30-9:00 p.m. Approximate arrival home.
